Over 3 ½ centuries later, remnants of early Acadian ( and later New England Planter) dykes remain while others lie entombed beneath the larger modern day dykes.
Bike back in time! Experience Fundy’s dykes and shorelines in the Shepody Marsh & National Wildlife area as guides recount the early Acadian story and reveal the genius of the aboiteaux system that is still in use today.
Bike the Dyke tours offer a unique blend of outdoor adventure and history. Biking the dyke network first developed by the Acadians provides the opportunity for guests to experience the spectacular Bay of Fundy coastline while learning the Acadian story.
The tour lasts 3 hours
No previous experience is required.
The tour is rated as Easy. All walking and biking occurs on flat trails, roads and dykes.
The tour is well suited adults and your (12 or >). Youth must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

What to Bring:
It is recommended that participants bring clothing suited for both warm and cool temperatures (shorts / pants; T shirt / long sleeved shirt) fleece or jacket, rain gear, hat, sunscreen and sunglasses. Hiking or running shoes are preferred no sandals. Don’t forget your camera.
All participants are required to complete a waiver form. Youth under age 19 must have participant waivers signed by a parent or guardian.
The tour begins at Studio On The Marsh on the Mary’s Point loop Road in Harvey Bank. From Moncton/Riverview, follow Rte. 114 south approximately 45 minutes to Riverside-Albert and then onto Rte. 915 for 5 minutes to Mary’s Point.
From Alma/ Fundy National Park go 20 minutes north (toward Moncton) on Rte. 114. to Riverside-Albert and then onto Rte 915 for 5 minutes to Mary’s Point. Please arrive 20 minutes prior to the designated start time.

A credit card is required to hold a reservation A 50% fee is charged if 24 hrs. notice of cancellation of reservation is not received or if guests with reservations do not arrive for their tour. Payment by MasterCard, Visa, Debit or Cash.
Baymount reserves the right to shorten the tour for reasons of participant safety or inappropriate behaviour that poses a safety hazard or threatens the ecosystem. Cancellations (non-group) are accepted without penalty with 24 hrs. notice (50% of tour cost is charged with less than 24 hrs. notice of cancellation). Guests are encouraged to provide more advanced notice of a change of plans if possible.

How difficult is the Mountain biking?
Tour difficulty varies with the selected tour. All tours along the Bay of Fundy coastline are rated as easy to low moderate while tours in the Hillsborough “WhiteRock” area are moderate/difficult. Highland rides are conducted in remote areas and are rated as difficult with many rocky and technical sections.
How long is the tour?
Half day rides range from 2-4 hours, while full day rides are 5-6 hours.
Can I use my own cycling equipment on your tour?
Yes, provided the equipment is in good working condition and meets or exceeds the quality of biking equipment provided by Baymount. We provide high quality 24 speed Trek Mountain Bike with front suspension and disc brakes, helmet, water bottle and snack. A 10% discount is available for participants using their own bike.
Is this tour suitable for families and children?
For Bike the Dykes, children should be a minimum of 12 years old and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Caledonia Highland and White Rock tours are Adult only (18 or >)
How should I dress for the tour?
Participants should bring appropriate cycling attire – running shoes, shorts, light jacket, sunglasses, sunscreen and camera
How do we find you and when should we arrive for our tour?
Start locations vary depending on the selected tour. Specific driving directions to start locations will be given upon registration.
Please arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled tour.
Do I need to reserve for our adventure?
Yes. Reservations are required. Guests should call 1-506-734-2660 or Toll Free 1-877-601-2660. A credit card is required to hold reservations
What is your cancellation policy?
Baymount reserves the right to shorten the tour for reasons of participant safety or
inappropriate behaviour that poses a safety hazard, threatens the ecosystem or diminishes the quality of the tour. Cancellations are accepted without penalty with 24 hrs. notice (50% of tour cost is charged with less than 24 hrs. notice of cancellation). Visitors are encouraged to provide more advanced notice of a change of plans to allow others the opportunity to participate. Participants receive a full refund if the tour is cancelled by Baymount. Unless there are safety considerations, tours are conducted rain or shine.

Do you have discounted rates for youth, families and groups?
Yes. Please contact us for rates, as they vary with activity.
What is the cost & method of payment?
Adult, youth and family rates available and vary with selected tour – see the selected tour posted on our web site. A credit card is required to hold reservations. We accept Cash, Debit, Master Card and Visa.
Can pets accompany us on the tour?
For logistical and safety reasons, pets are not allowed on any of our tours.
Is smoking allowed on tours?
Smoking is not allowed on any of our tours, however, guests are free to smoke in designated areas before or after the tour.
